Where are Retrostep Shoes made?

All of our Retrostep shoes are proudly made in China. Each pair is handcrafted by skilled artisans in our workshop, where we pay close attention to detail to ensure high quality and comfortable wear.

What sizing system does Retrostep Shoes use?

Our product pages display UK sizes. Internally, we use Chinese sizing (CN) for production, but for your convenience, we convert all sizes into US, UK, and EU sizing on our website.For more details, please visit our Size Guide page.

What types of footwear do you offer?

We offer a wide variety of original footwear designs, including mules, loafers, platform shoes, boots, Mary Janes, Oxfords, lace-up styles, and more.Our collections are known for their vintage-inspired and artistic aesthetic, blending comfort with timeless character. Each pair is thoughtfully designed to stand out and tell a story.

How do I choose the right size?

Finding the perfect fit is essential for comfort! We recommend checking our size guide available on the product pages. If you're between sizes, consider the style of the shoe and your personal preference for a snug or relaxed fit. Remember, your comfort is our priority!

Can I return or exchange my shoes?

Absolutely! We want you to love your shoes. If you need to return or exchange them, just reach out to us within 14 days of delivery. Ensure the shoes are unworn and in their original packaging, and we'll guide you through the process!

What if my shoes arrive damaged or incorrect?

Your satisfaction is our mission! If you receive a damaged item or the wrong pair, please contact us immediately with photos. We’ll work swiftly to resolve the issue, whether it’s sending a replacement or processing a refund.

How long does shipping take?

We offer free shipping across the UK and Europe! Typically, UK orders take 4-10 working days for delivery, while European orders may take 5-25 working days. You’ll receive a tracking link via email once your order is dispatched, so you can follow your shoes on their journey!

What if my package gets lost?

  1. If your order is not delivered within 45 days, our shipping partner will consider it lost and issue compensation.
  2. We will assist in contacting the carrier and support you throughout the entire process.

Will there be shipping delays during holidays?

Yes, shipping may be delayed during major Chinese public holidays, including Labor Day, National Day, and Spring Festival. Delays typically range from 2–5 days. Our production team is based in China and follows the local holiday schedule.

Who pays for return shipping?

  • If the return is due to customer reasons (e.g. wrong size, personal preference), the customer is responsible for return shipping.
  • If the return is due to our error (e.g. wrong item sent or quality issue), we will cover the return shipping cost.

As a small handcrafted shoe studio based in China, our profit margins are very modest. We already cover the cost of shipping to you and offer free exchanges. To ensure the long-term sustainability of our business, our return policy clearly states that customers must cover return postage for returns due to personal reasons. For issues caused by us, we will gladly reimburse any return shipping fees.

How much does it cost to return shoes?

  1. If you return shoes via Royal Mail from the UK, the estimated cost is around £12–£28, depending on weight and location.
  2. We are currently working with logistics partners to provide return labels directly through our website in the future.

Where should I send my return?

All shoes are shipped from and returned to our studio in China. You have two return options:

  • Option A: Return to our studio in China (recommended). Please contact customer service for the address.
  • Option B: Return to our partner warehouse in the U.S., available for certain cases.

What if there’s a quality issue with my shoes?

Please note that shoes are not designed to last forever. Even well-made leather shoes will naturally show wear over time. We encourage you to take good care of your shoes to extend their lifespan.

However, we stand behind the quality of our products. If you notice a non-human-caused defect within 30 days of receiving your shoes, please contact us—we’re happy to help.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Yes! We love making your gifts extra special. You can select the "This is a gift" option at checkout to add free gift wrapping and a handwritten note. Let us help you spread joy with your thoughtful presents!
